Preventing Childhood Genetic Disease through Education

The Canavan Foundation was founded in 1992 by the parents and friends of children affected by inherited genetic diseases. Our mission is to promote complete preconception carrier screening for all parents-to-be. Current efforts include a website with informational videos, comprehensive provider, patient and clergy education programs and online campaigns to reach prospective parents.
