Funding Education and Research Since 1992
The Canavan Foundation, founded in 1992, is dedicated to educating at-risk populations about Canavan and other Jewish genetic diseases and the reproductive options available to carrier couples. We distribute educational materials through synagogues across the country and Ob-Gyn and primary care practices in areas with significant Jewish populations. We keep medical providers up-to-date on screening recommendations and support research into treatments - and an eventual cure - for Canavan disease.
